”The Jews were very confused that Jesus was the Messiah and now they were confused that Gentiles could be saved. But God had spoken to them many times, but they refused to act upon God’s Word (Romans 10). Paul quoted Psalm 19 to show them that their King David understood the plan God had for reaching the world. Paul quoted Moses, as God said; “I will provoke the Jews to jealousy by those who are not a nation; I will move them to anger by a foolish nation” (Deut.32:21). Paul also quoted Isaiah 65; “I was found by those who did not seek Me – – I have stretched out my hands all day long to a rebellious people”. If the Jews had been paying attention, they would have realized that God wanted to save the world from sin. If they had been listening to His word, it would have been clear that God wanted to use them to accomplish that, but they refused to hear Him, and act upon His Word. God told Abraham; “In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Gen.12). That has always been God’s plan.
