There were Christians in the first century, and there are Christians today, who are in need of the dynamic power of God’s Holy Spirit. The writer to the Hebrews called them “,,unskilled in the word of righteousness, & babies.”(Heb 6). He meant that there was no Spiritual fire or power in their lives. They may say; “I’m a Christian. I believe in Jesus..” but it doesn’t go beyond that. There is no real enthusiasm for the things of God’s Spirit. It may be that Paul saw a lack of Spiritual Love and Power in the Christians from Ephesus (Acts 19), so Paul asked; “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” Because the Holy Spirit is the dynamic power of God! He is the One that makes us alive to the things of God! He brings Love and Passion for Christ into our lives! He brings righteousness, peace and joy! So the question to you and to me is this; “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” God wants to baptize (immerse) you in His Holy Spirit.
