In the first century church at Antioch, certain prophets and teachers were ministering to the Lord (Acts 13). We usually think of ministering to the church congregation. these men were ministering to the Lord. Remember that the word “minister” in both the Hebrew Old Testament and the Greek New Testament means “servant”. These men were serving the Lord by waiting on Him through fasting and praying.
The church is the Bride of Christ, and has been brought into a loving relationship with the Father through the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As we serve Him, He receives praise and glory, and we receive the all-fulfilling Love of God.
Paul wrote to the Ephesians that we are created “to the praise of the glory of His grace” (Eph.1) . And the resulting overflow of God’s Love in us is ministry to others. – **Sorry for the static in the sound**
