The disciples of Christ didn’t just rush into their prayers and petitions. They took time, first of all, to worship the Lord. (Acts 4:23-37). Prayer should always begin with worship, with a time of reflecting on God’s Word, and quietness before the Lord. Then we bring our prayers and petitions, as we recognize the righteousness of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. We should always acknowledge our Father to whom we are coming in prayer, and realize that He has everything in His hands. Worship gives us perspective, and then are we ready to bring our petitions to Him and receive God’s righteous power from on High.
