Feb. 28, 2016 “Liberty or Slavery” 2 Peter 2:12-22 – CD#1589

First Love

Slavery means having no control of your life. The Bible says that we are slaves to whatever or whoever we choose to obey. (Rom.6:16) Christians are willing slaves to Jesus Christ. We have accepted Christ as our Lord and Master. We have surrendered our bodies and minds to Him. And we have discovered that to be a slave of Jesus Christ is much better than to be a slave of Satan, Sin, Self or Society. (2 Peter 2:12-22)     When I surrendered my life to Jesus, I was set free. Now that I have become a willing slave to my Lord and Savior I have Liberty in Christ, and I am no longer a slave to do those things that were destroying me.

Feb. 21, 2016 “Let God Rebuke Satan” 2 Peter 2 – cd#1588

2Peter2

PETER WARNED US about arrogant, self-willed people who make rash accusations against Satan (2 Peter 2). Jude wrote about Michael the archangel and his dispute with Satan over the body of Moses (Jude 9). Michael & Satan are both powerful angels; and they were challenging each other regarding the body of Moses. But in the dispute, Michael did not “bring against Satan any reviling accusation, but said; “The Lord rebuke you!”

” It bothers me when people make light of Satan, and talk about how they’re going to go against him.    I really don’t want any direct dealings with Satan.  I like what Michael the archangel did; he let the Lord rebuke Satan rather than himself”.   Pastor Chuck Smith

Feb. 14, 2016 “God’s Beloved Word” – 2 Peter 1:12-21 – CD#1587

2-peter1

ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD. Holy men wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. And In His Beloved Word, God has given to us all that is necessary for life and Godliness. (2 Peter 1)      The Word of God will transform anyone who will read it, and practice it in their life.  God’s Beloved Word will change your life and transform you into the image of Christ. The Word of God is living and powerful, and we will be like His Beloved Son – IF we allow it to work in us.

Feb. 7, 2016 “Knowing God” 2 Peter 1 – CD#1586

2 Peter

The book of Second Peter was written shortly before his death in 67 A.D. In Peter’s first letter he spoke of suffering and the hope of heaven. In this second letter he writes about the heresy and apostasy that was growing in the church and would be increasing in the future.   Knowing God only comes through knowing God’s Word. And with all the clever, false teachings around, the answer is not to understand false teachings, the answer is to understand God’s Truth, and compare every teaching to that.                                                                                                                                                                       Peter summarized this letter in the last two verses: “You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware, lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever.
