Acts 1:12-26 “The Bible, Fellowship and Prayer” – April 27, 2014 – CD # 1504

THE DISCIPLES were in the upper room together in fellowship & with one accord, their differences were still there but their Love for Jesus was greater than any differences. (Acts 1) They all prayed together, a serious, even desperate prayer. (Acts 1) After prayer, they take up the Holy Scripture to read. The disciples had confidence in the Scriptures. They knew that because God said it, it had to happen! They also recognized that the Scriptures were inspired by the Holy Spirit, “which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David.”
True Christians believe that the Bible is inspired by God, and without error. These are two important fundamental beliefs we must have concerning the Word of God.

1 Corinthians 15 “The Good News” April 20, 2014 # Easter2014

THE GOOD NEWS IS; first of all, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. Jesus took our sins on Himself and died in our placed. This had been prophesied in Isaiah 53:6: “The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” The second part of the Good news is that He died and was buried. Isaiah 53:9 “They made His grave with the wicked, in a rich man’s grave at His death”. The third part is that He rose again on the third day and was seen by many witnesses, including the apostle Paul. This is great news for us. And as Paul made the declaration of this Gospel message the sole purpose of his life, we too should take every opportunity to declare the Good News to those around us.

Acts 1 “The Spirit In The Bride” – 4/13/14 – SM# 1503

THE SPIRIT AND THE BRIDE FINISHED THE BOOK OF REVELATION SAYING; “COME!” (Rev.22:17) This has been the desire of the Holy Spirit & the Bride from the beginning of the church age. The apostles in the upper room were baptized (immersed) with Holy Spirit power as they waited for Him. (Acts 1) They had already been baptized in water, but Christ promised a 2nd baptism to give them power from on high. (Luke 24:49)
The Samaritan believers experienced the 2nd baptism. (Ac.8) The Ephesian believers had not even heard of the Holy Spirit, but God baptized them (Ac 19). When Peter taught at Cornelius’ house the Holy Spirit baptized them even while he was teaching. There was no laying on of hands, nor teaching on gifts. The church simply longed for a touch from her Lord! Do you long for His touch today? “The Father will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask…” (Luke 11:9-13)
