Revelation 11 “Christ’s Kingdom Come” – 12/1/13 – #1486

THE TEMPLES that were built here on earth by King Solomon (destroyed in 586 BC) and the 2nd Temple, rebuilt by Ezra and Nehemiah (516 BC) then improved upon by Herod, (destroyed in 70 AD) were only models of the True Temple, which is in heaven. That is why the instructions were so precise. They were patterned after the temple in heaven. We know that Anti-Christ will build a 3rd Temple. (Dan.9-Matt.24-Rev.13). We don’t know where the Ark of the Covenant that was in Solomon’s temple is today, but it was only a model of the real one that is in heaven. We shouldn’t spend a lot of effort trying to find the Ark here on earth. Someday we will see the real thing in heaven with Jesus.

“Thanks-Living” 2013 – Eph. 5 and Psalm 100 – next week we will continue our Ride thru Revelation

ABRAHAM LINCOLN’S AMAZING THANKSGIVING PROCLAMATION CAME AT A PIVOTAL POINT IN HIS SPIRITUAL LIFE. . Three months earlier, the Battle of Gettysburg had occurred, resulting in the loss of some 60,000 American lives. It was while Lincoln walked among the graves at Gettysburg that he first committed his life to Jesus Christ. He later explained: “When I left Springfield, to assume the Presidency, I asked the people to pray for me. I was not a Christian. When I buried my son, the hardest trial of my life, I was not a Christian. But when I went to Gettysburg and saw the graves of thousands of our young men, I then and there consecrated my life to Jesus Christ.
Over the 75 years following Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation, presidents faithfully followed Lincoln’s precedent, annually declaring a national Thanksgiving Day (but the dates varied).
In November 1941, Congress permanently established the 4th Thursday of November as America’s Thanksgiving Holiday.

Revelation 11 “God’s Two Witnesses” 11/17/13 #1485

GOD’S TWO WITNESSES WILL PROPHECY DURING THE GREAT TRIBULATION. They will be martyred, resurrected, and raptured. Malachi prophesied that Elijah would be coming before the day of the Lord. (Mal.4). But the identity of the second prophet is not as clear. Some think it will be Enoch, because Enoch, like Elijah, never died. Others think it might be Zechariah, or John the Baptist. The leading candidate would have to be Moses, and that is who I think it will be. The miracles the witnesses perform are like the miracles of Moses and Elijah. Moses would be seen as representing the Law, while Elijah represents the Prophets. Also when Jesus was transfigured, Moses and Elijah were with Him, so it seems reasonable that they would be His two witnesses. God’s two witnesses will be indestructible until they finish their testimony, and I believe the same is true of all Christians. Nothing can harm us until God finishes what He wants to do in us and through us.

Revelation 10 “GOD’S BITTER-SWEET WORD” 11/10/13 #1484

IN HIS VISION, AS JOHN TAKES THE LITTLE SCROLL, AND EATS IT, HE REALIZES THAT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS ABOUT TO COME TO EARTH, IT WAS SWEET …. The thought of the glories of heaven, coming to earth when Jesus Christ rules; the deserts blossoming like a rose, the lion & lamb eating together, no more wars! Thinking about it was as sweet as honey!
But then as John begins to digest the fact that the wrath of God must take place first, & judgment must be poured out on the earth, he became sick. It is a bitter-sweet thing, even as Christians today look forward to the return of Christ, & the glories of His kingdom on earth, we also realize that it will mean God’s judgment must come, & there will be weeping & gnashing of teeth in the process.
This Revelation is given so Christians will know the time is at hand to share the Gospel with this lost world.

Rev. 9:13-21 “Repent and Be Saved” 11/3/13 #1483

This Trumpet of the angel from the Euphrates is described at the end of Revelation 7:13 as ‘woe’ to the earth. Don’t confuse this 6th trumpet with the Last Trump of 1 Cor.15:55, which is the Trump of God (1 Thess.4:16). God’s trumpet call will not be ‘woe’ but ‘wonderful’; a call to the Bride of Christ at the Rapture of the Church. This will be the Last Trumpet from God (Rev.4:1) before the wrath and judgment. Remember, here in Rev. 9, we are reading of things future (Rev.1:19). This judgment is coming from the mercy seat of the Golden Altar which stands before God. The God of mercy and Love is bringing wrath upon the Christ rejecting people of earth. In Genesis 6 God said; “My Spirit shall not always strive with man..” through Noah God warned people of the impending flood. And just as Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, so have we. We are the Bride of Christ, and we are also warning this Christ-rejecting world of the judgment as we point them to Jesus Christ for salvation.
