“Lukewarm Laodicea” Rev. 3 Sunday 8/18/13

THE LAODICEAN CHURCH thought they were doing very well, saying: “I am rich, I have become wealthy, and have need of nothing.” But Jesus saw something very different. From the Lord’s perspective they were “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.”
It is not important what I think of myself. But it is critically important what Christ thinks of me. We need to see ourselves through the eyes of Jesus. This is why David prayed; “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Ps.139:23,24)
